SpecTools
- an OpenSource software package
Automated Quantitative Spectroscopic Analysis Combining Background Subtraction, Cosmic-Ray Removal and Peak Fitting programmed in LabVIEW
Paper and supplemental material
The applications and subVI in this software package are the supplement of a publication in Applied Spectroscopy:T. M. James, M. Schlösser, R. J. Lewis, S. Fischer, B. Bornschein, and H. H. Telle, "Automated Quantitative Spectroscopic Analysis Combining Background Subtraction, Cosmic-Ray Removal and Peak Fitting", Applied Spectroscopy, 2012 (Volume and Issue will be supplied soon!).
The documentation of the paper is included in the documentation folder. It constists of a combination of the submitted paper and supplemental material. It combines an introduction to general problems related to quantitative spectroscopic analysis is given. Furthermore, all methods (subVIs) and the full analysis chain (Application) from the software package are introduced and their abbilities are discussed in several examples.
The parts based on the supplemental material to this publication give more details about the routines and their implementation. This document already serves as practical instruction to the subVIs and applications of this package.
Help files
In the folder documentation/help detailed help is provided about all VIs in the style of the original LabVIEW help by National Instruments. This files can be used in standalone mode or directly from LabVIEW since the VIs are linked to the helpfile.
Tutorial and sample data
In order to learn about the functionality of SpecTools a step-by-step tutorial is provided in the folder documentation. The tutorial deals with sample files which can be found in the folder sample-files. More information about the sample file are given in the tutorial.
